December is the busiest time of the year as it is both the season for exams and multiple holidays. In trying to keep up with the holidays’ rush, sometimes it can be difficult to think of what gifts to give–let alone gifts that people will definitely use and appreciate.
Gift cards are a great go-to in the middle of the gift-buying rush this season. Nowadays, hundreds and hundreds of gift card options, ranging from bookstores like Barnes & Noble or Chapters-Indigo, online gaming site STEAM (handy for that holiday STEAM sale), Google Play, to your local malls or favourite online or on-site stores. The amount you can give has a decent range, with some cards starting from CAD 10.00 to CAD 100.00. With gift cards, you can worry less whether you gave a gift that will be liked or not and spend less time rushing and lining up in stores.
If you are creatively inclined, then gifting a craft you made yourself would be a good idea. Of course, crafting takes some time; the sooner the ideas come, the better. Luckily, there are plenty of DIY channels on YouTube, where you can get inspiration for making: holiday decor, pet gifts, custom furniture, bathroom essentials, and so much more.
If you consider yourself competent in the kitchen, you can always find recipes for holiday favourites (ham, turkey, eggnog, and gingerbread, anyone?) online. If you favour a certain chef (Team Oliver, Team Ramsay, Team Stewart, or Team Ray?), you can find inspirations from their YouTube channels and websites as well. In addition to show-stopping main courses, baked goods can be packed in gift boxes as bonus treats. Food is always appreciated at any holiday party and would be even better appreciated as gifts.
Customized Gift Basket
This idea might take a little longer than the others on the list. A gift basket filled with little treats like food, skincare and bath products, nerdy or fandom trinkets can be a good idea if you have no specific idea on what to give as a gift. In combining things you know your friend or loved one will like, the thought in putting a gift basket together will be shown; and isn’t the thought that really counts?
