The Economist Intelligence Unit has released the Safest Cities in The World 2021, which ranks 60 major worldwide cities based on 76 factors in digital, health, infrastructure, environmental, and personal security. With an overall score of 82.4 out of 100, Copenhagen is at the top of the rankings this year.
The paper claims that “Every single one of the world’s most populous cities has a more pronounced relative weakness. For example, Copenhagen is ranked 26th in terms of health security “. However, the Danish capital also ranks first in terms of personal safety.
Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney, Hong Kong, and Melbourne all appear in the top ten cities in the Asia-Pacific area. While cities in the United States generally lag, they excel in one critical area: digital security. Among that category, Los Angeles and San Francisco are in the top five.
