When it comes to honesty in the workplace, some professions have a better reputation than others. For example, some people might question a doctor’s honesty or ethics when it comes to a diagnosis or blames the salesperson when a newly purchased used car breaks down after 20 miles on the road.
A survey conducted in 35 countries by the global education charity Varkey Foundation canvassed opinions on 14 typical graduate occupations.
In each nation, 1,000 members of the general public were asked to rank the list of professions from the most respected (14th) to the least (1st).

10. Secondary School Teacher
Secondary school teachers may be generalists or subject area specialists who provide instruction to young people in junior and senior high school (Grades 7 to 12).
9. Management consultants
Management consultants work with domestic and/or global clients (organizations, executives, leaders and teams) to identify and solve complex business, organizational and operational problems and define and improve processes.
8. Local Government manager
The local government manager’s primary responsibility is to implement the policies of the elected officials for whom they work. In a council-manager government, the manager prepares the annual budget, hires and fires personnel, and directs day-to-day operations.
Accounting is the process of recording financial transactions pertaining to a business. The accounting process includes summarizing, analyzing and reporting these transactions to oversight agencies, regulators and tax collection entities.
Registered Nurses treat patients, record their medical history, provide emotional support, and provide follow-up care. Nurses also help doctors perform diagnostic tests. Nurses are almost always working on their own or with other nurses. Nurses will assist doctors in the emergency room or in trauma care when help is needed.

Police officers help to protect citizens and their property, maintain public peace, prevent and detect crime, apprehend those who break the law, process court requirements and handle traffic problems. They enforce federal, provincial, and municipal legislation and act as agents of social change in the community to promote safer neighbourhoods.

Headteachers are leaders of their schools and create suitable conditions for children and staff. work with the governing body to decide the school’s values, making these known to pupils, staff, parents and the wider community make staff aware of key priorities, giving tasks to teams and individuals with instructions to evaluate and review.
